Samantha and John met while working on a ship, so it made sense for them to have a wedding in the nautical town of Mystic, CT. The couple chose to have their ceremony at Stonington Lighthouse, since lighthouses were very sentimental to Samantha. After the ceremony guests returned to Spicer Mansion, which was owned by a renowned sea captain. Guests enjoyed moving from room to room during cocktail hour, and dined on New England inspired hors d'oeuvres. For the reception, they moved to al fresco seating setup beneath an enormous elm tree, and decked with bistro lighting. Samanth and John wanted some subtle nautical details, so we used brass oil lanterns in some centerpieces, while guests signed well-wishes on a nautical chart.
