If you are considering a beach wedding in Connecticut, you are going to love Lindsay and Cody’s wedding day. Lindsay and Cody are one of those adventurous couples you can’t help but connect with, and their wedding reflected the effortless vibe they both embody. The two of them met while volunteering for FEMA after college and although they were on different teams (both stationed in Sacramento, CA), they quickly became friends and then eventually started dating. You can tell these two were friends first because they worked so well together, and I loved being in their energy as we worked to plan the most incredible wedding day.

Before you ask me about this gorgeous beach wedding venue in Connecticut, we were fortunate enough to use a family property for this extraordinary affair. Don’t worry, there are plenty of incredible beach wedding venues in New England to choose from, and as your wedding planner, I would be happy to help you find one that fits your vision. Designing their Beach Wedding at Home

The ceremony and reception were both held on the beach outside of their family beach house that has been passed down in the bride’s family for generations. It had been the setting for so many celebrations and happy memories with her sisters and cousins, so it seemed a given that they would celebrate their wedding there as well. Lindsay and Cody wanted their wedding to feel relaxed and joyful and we created a design that was both tropical and fun, with some boho-inspired touches that they just loved.

When we started to talk about color palettes, Lindsay and Cody both loved neutral colors (common with boho-inspired wedding decor) with just a touch of tropical flair. They didn’t want it to feel like an over-the-top beach wedding. Instead, they wanted an elevated design that fit effortlessly with the beach wedding location. Colors were kept to white, ivory, blush, sand, with bursts of tropical green. The bride’s father owns a construction company and built several items for the wedding as well. I love including custom elements as a part of any wedding day! He built both bars, the dessert table, the triangle arch, and the doors to the ceremony. Everything was flawless.

Prioritizing Family on their Wedding Day

Although the design is one of my favorite parts of wedding planning, I can’t help but love when couples prioritize simply spending time celebrating with their family and friends. One of my personal favorite moments of the day was right before Lindsay walked down the aisle with her dad. It was so sweet, and so apparent how close they are. It was one of my favorite photos from this past season. So much sweet emotion in one picture.

From the start, Lindsay and Cody just wanted to relax and enjoy the celebration! They danced to the band on the beach and dined on pizza from a pizza truck. There were so many special moments throughout the wedding day that centered around family. Lindsay chose to not only have a dance with her dad, but her mom as well. Her sisters were also included in the reception, and they performed a song for the happy couple as well.

A 5 Star Review from this Joyful Beach Wedding in Connecticut

Oh my goodness I do not even know where to start with the appreciation I have for Jenn. We found Jenn a little over a year away from our wedding right around when mayhem hit due to Covid.

First and foremost, she was so amazing reassuring us. She made the whole entire wedding planning process seamless and fun! Our wedding was at our house on the beach and Jenn built our entire venue from the ground up. Literally out of nothing. She was so helpful on where to save and what was important to add to bring the vision we had to life. Her and her team were absolute queens the day of with setting up and making everything come together. We could not have done it without her!

She turned a stressful process of planning a wedding into something we will always cherish. We could not have asked for a more amazing and genuine person to be a part of our day! She has a way of making you feel calm and is just the best! Thank you Jenn <3
